Last night Wendy and I attended the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Annual Recognition Award Ceremony in Leeds.
Guests included The Lord Lieutenant of Yorkshire, The Mayor & Mayoress of Leeds and the renowned ex-cricketer Geoffrey Boycott. The ceremony was hosted by Yorkshire television news presenter Gaynor Barnes who is a patron of the charity.
The Old Hall Holiday Park was nominated in one of six fund raising categories. Fantastically, the park was awarded with The Organisations award and on a personal note Wendy and I were given recognition for our continued support for The YAA. We were invited on stage by Gaynor to receive our award and my lasting memory will be that of Geoffrey Boycott (unbeknown to him) applauding a couple from Lancashire.
Below are three photos the first was taken on the night by YAA Regional fundraiser Helen Gowans shortly after we returned from the stage. The second photo is a special one of the Air Ambulance given to the award recipients along with a personal certificate. There will be more photos available of the event online at the YAA web site in due course. Once again a big thank you to all of you for donating and we'll keep on going with our support.
Having listened last night to some real life stories of courage in the face adversity it's really worthwhile and means a lot to so many.
