The River Swale fishing pegs at Swaleside Park are providing some excellent fishing this year.

The photo shows Barry Whitwick who caught this 9lb 4oz fish last week on the River Swale fishing pegs that are allocated to residents and visitors to Old Hall and York House/Abbots Green.

He regularly fishes on that stretch of river and is now looking to catch even bigger barbel.

Mr Marshall owns Riverside Caravan Parks which is located near to High Bentham on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and had made the trip to London along with Mr Brierley who owns, among several, Quarry Moor near Ripon and Old Hall near Langthorpe, for the annual British Holiday and Home Parks Association National Conference.

Riverside Park has been owned and managed by Thomas Marshall and his family since the late 60s and provides a site for tourists to the area and those with permanent homes on the park.

Quarry Moor and New Park is a residential park for the over fifties which offers accommodation in a rural environment, close to Ripon.

Julian Smith MP said:

Holiday parks such as Riverside Park and Quarry Moor Park form an important part of our visitor economy and homes provision in the region. It was good to discuss issues including business rates, staffing, broadband and flooding in our meeting. Park Homes are a very important part of my constituency and I will continue to represent the issues that both owners and constituents face.

Hi All

Row, Row, Row your boat!!! - Repeat, repeat, yes you guessed it repeat!!!

Thank you all for the very kind messages and support we have received it is really appreciated. Communication can be quite tricky out here and when we receive the messages it really gives us a boost to think that we are in your thoughts out here in this little boat!! A short update on how things are going out here in the big blue.

The weather and the ocean are proving less than accommodating, with choppy and rough seas making progress difficult at the moment. We are steering by hand and continue to suffer equipment malfunction, but we now have just over 700 nautical miles to go with the end getting nearer with every stroke. We are managing all the issues and and are getting quite adept at fixing things.

We are all well, safe and in good spirits (although a bit tired and sore) and with our focus very much on the finish line in Antigua.

Whilst this challenge is hard going for us, we do know that it will end. Many of the people helped by our two fantastic charities do not have that luxury, the support provided by Maggies Cancer Caring Centre and Yorkshire Air Ambulance is invaluable.

Please help us raise funds by going to www.yorkshirerows.com/donate

All for now

Love and best wishes
