The team from York House Holiday Park had a wonderful time at the glittering ceremony for the finals of the prestigious White Rose Awards 2019, after being named among the best holiday parks in Yorkshire.
The event took place in at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on November 26, and featured 103 finalists in 19 categories.
York House had been shortlisted in the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year category alongside five other companies. It followed a successful run of accolades this year, with York House receiving both a gold David Bellamy Conservation Award and the Hoseasons Diamond Award in the Relax & Explore small parks category for the North of England.
Despite missing out on an accolade at the evening, the team from York House all thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a great celebration of Yorkshire tourism.
YHL Parks director Phil Brierley said: “I’m so proud of the teams across all our parks and would like to thank everyone for their hard work and commitment to maintaining our high standards and making our sites such exceptional places to stay.
“It was great for the team from York House to attend the White Rose Awards and celebrate their deserving place in the finals. The competition is always tough and was particularly high this year, so huge congratulations to all the finalists and the winners.”
The White Rose Awards, run by Welcome to Yorkshire, celebrate tourism and hospitality organisations that excel at promoting the best that Yorkshire has to offer, from holiday providers like YHL Parks to tourist attractions and dining venues.
Phil added: “We are now looking forward to attending another awards ceremony in a couple of weeks’ time, when The Old Barn Coffee Shop is up for three accolades in The Flavours of Herriot Country Awards. Good luck to everyone involved!”
The café, located at the entrance to York House Holiday Park, has been named as a Herriot Award finalist in the Tearoom of the Year, Customer Service Team of the Year and Baked Product of the Year categories.
